Baby, Baby!!

Dixie Bluebell - our once retired broodmare -- came out of retirement with a vengeance by delivering a large, gorgeous filly by the very good Justenuffhumor (he is a Distorted Humor stallion and he comes from the family of Kitten's Joy).   When we saw Dixie almost as wide as she is high a week before she gave birth, we were wondering what she had inside -- on February 16, she delivered an exceptionally good looking filly.   She has "good bone" and nice long legs and is larger than Dixie's past foals for us -- we're very pleased with this 2012 filly.   Take a look at some of the pictures we took of her at only 2 days old:

O.K., I'm smitten with her, so sue me . . . on to the other horses:

Strikealinethruit - The mare will be sent to trainer David Duggan this week -- our hope is that she will be ready to start early in the year.   All reports are that she is doing well and ready for racing!

Irishtocat - The filly is entering her four year old season with high hopes -- she displayed some ability but then didn't quite deliver in subsequent starts.   We're hoping she'll put it all together in 2012 -- she will be sent to trainer David Duggan on March 9.

Blissful Belle - The turf filly proved once again that she is not a dirt filly -- whle we are hoping the dirt races will have her in fine condition for turf racing, we run the risk of souring her on racing.  We will regroup with hopes to get her on turf/polytrack before too many more starts.

Thirtycandan -- The gelding is doing very well and we're eager to hear Dave Duggan's thoughts on him.  He will be sent to David on March 9 along with Irishtocat.

Ishkabibble - Our Utopia (JPN) filly continues to do all things right in her preparations in Florida.  The plan is to keep her there until she is up to 3/8ths works and then send her to a trainer in May for racing at two.  We will hold off on a decision on who will train her until we are closer to May.  As of now, all things are going well for this miss.

Ms. Preacher Brown - The mare was bred to freshman leading juvenile sire Scat Daddy on February 23 and will be checked for pregnancy in a few weeks.   If we're lucky, she'll get in foal on the early cover date - keeping our fingers crossed.

Dixie Bluebell - Obviously she had a pretty filly this year.   The plan is to send her to Kentucky in a few weeks for a date with Kentucky Derby, Floriday Derby, Belmont and Travers winner Thunder Gulch -- so that next year we'll have another set of photos of another outstanding baby.

Bella Attrice - Speaking of babies . . . the mare who won over $250,000 in her racing career and brought us much excitement with her wins at Saratoga has had her first foal on February 24.   Bella Attrice's colt by AP Warrior is a carbon copy of his dam - dark bay/brown, almost black with lots of leg -- hopefully he'll have the same attitude that made Bella special.   Congratulations to Our Blue Streaks and best of luck with this first foal from their talented mare.

Welcome New Partner - Finally, I would like to welcome John V. who enters into the group with an interest in Ishkabibble - here's wishing John a good experience as an owner!

Keep the faith,

Mike
